Why is there a color variation on this product
It is common for this product to have a slight color variation and the color can vary from tan to light brown.
We reached out to ZO Skin Health and they said:
“ZO Skin Health, Inc. is aware that in the presence of oxygen, the active ingredient of hydroquinone in ZO’s Pigment Control Crème, Pigment Control + Blending, and Pigment Control + Brightening products has the potential to oxidize, which can alter the appearance of the formulations towards a brownish color over time. While ZO takes precautions to prevent the oxidation of the products, mainly by packaging the formulations in an airless pump mechanism bottle, this is an inherent characteristic of virtually all hydroquinone topical formulations. The discoloration that occurs does not pose any risk to the safety or efficacy of the product, so long as the product is used within the stated expiration date, or within 6 months of first use, whichever comes first.”

Apply 2 pumps to affected areas twice a day or as directed by a physician.

Gemini, I do not see an order with your email address but I contacted the manufacturer and they said that “a slight change in color is ok as long as the product does not smell”, it is not advisable to leave the product in a hot car, or in the sun because the ingredients can degrade. Did you purchase it a while ago? Can you shake the bottle to see if the product mixes again? Did you buy it from an authorized reseller?
