How does Silagen Gel work?
The gel seals the scar from exposure to air and it also hydrates the skin. This combination helps the scar to stay flat, soft, and less red while it prevents the skin from producing excessive scar tissue.

Does Silagen Gel work on old scars?
According to Silagen and clinical studies, silicone ointments are effective in improving older red and raised scars. Even on old scars Silagen can soften, flatten and brighten them. The best time to apply Silagen Gel is when the scar has formed but many of our customers have seen results on older scars.

How should I use Silagen Gel?
First of all, Silgen Gel should be used on skin that has healed and sutures have been removed. Do not use it on an open wound.

Wash and dry the scan area
Apply a very small amount of SIlagen Gel, creating a thin layer covering the scar. Gently massage it in.
Once the product dries(1-2 minutes) you can cover it with clothing, cosmetics, sunscreen, or bandages.
Apply Silagen Gel 2-3 times a day. Reapply after sweating, bathing, or swimming.

How long should I use Silagen Gel?
You should use it 12-24 hours a day. The longer it is in contact with the scar, the greater the effect. Doctors recommend Silagen Gel to be used for a minimum of 2 months but an additional improvement may occur up to 6 months.

How long until I see results?
Times vary by the type of scar and by individual healing. Some people see improvement in the first week, while some see results in 3-7 weeks with optimal results occurring after 3 months of use.

How long do the bottles last?
The 0.5-ounce bottle has enough to treat a 3-inch scar for 3 months!

Here is the use recommendation according to Silagen:
Scar Lenght:
Up to 3 inches: 1 bottle
4 inches to 6 inches: 2 bottle
7 inches to 9 inches: 3 bottle
10 inches to 12 inches: 4 bottle

My doctor also recommended Silagen sheeting, can they be used together?
Yes but not at the same time. The skin needs to be completely clear of all lotions, creams, and ointments for the sheeting to adhere.

Can Silagen be used on children?
Yes, Silagen is safe to be used on children and adults.
